About us

Paws x 4 is dedicated to empowering people through practical canine education. We offer a wide range of professional services, including canine behaviour modification, puppy and dog training, lectures, seminars, workshops, mobile microchipping, community microchipping events, retirement village in-house education programs, locum veterinary nursing services, and pet photography.

At Paws x 4, we believe every dog is an individual. Different breeds have different levels of stamina, sensory perception, size, agility, instincts, appearance, and emotional responses. No breed is superior, and no dog is beyond learning. Training should never be a one-size-fits-all approach. Every dog learns differently, and every family has unique goals. Our role is to build confidence and create a training program that works for both you and your dog.

Puppy Training

Puppy training is designed to build the foundations for a confident, well-mannered companion while empowering owners with the knowledge and skills to continue learning at home. Classes focus on creating positive experiences through socialisation, relationship building, and reward-based training.

Topics include:

  • Appropriate puppy socialisation and confidence building
  • Basic foundation behaviours including sit, drop, come, and polite manners
  • Understanding canine body language and communication
  • Toilet training
  • Mouthing and play biting
  • Chewing and destructive behaviours
  • Setting boundaries
  • General health, care, enrichment, and welfare
  • Building lifelong habits through consistency, patience, and fun

Our goal is to help puppies develop into confident, happy dogs while giving owners the skills and confidence to enjoy the journey together.

Dog Training

Dog training builds on the foundations established during puppyhood or provides a fresh start for older dogs. Programs are tailored to the individual dog, recognising that every dog learns at its own pace.

Training may include:

  • Loose lead walking
  • Stay and recall
  • Focus and engagement
  • Working around distractions
  • Confidence building
  • Behaviour modification where required

Sessions are practical, enjoyable, and designed to strengthen the partnership between you and your dog. We believe training should be engaging, rewarding, and something both dog and owner look forward to.

At Paws x 4, we don't believe there is only one way to train a dog. We believe in adapting our methods to suit the individual dog, their family, and their learning style. By combining fun training, compassion, and practical experience, we empower owners to develop confident, trusting, and lifelong relationships with their canine companions.
